Founded by Stephen Yip, MBE in 1975,

KIND is a children’s charity that believes in the importance of investing in the future-our children.

Every year, we work with thousands of children, young people and their families across Liverpool and greater Merseyside, pioneering new and imaginative ways to help them cope with many forms of disadvantage.

We achieve this through:

Education –

Offering learning and skill development opportunities:

• At our SEED (Social Environmental Education Development) Centre
• Through our Young Volunteers and Family Learning Programmes
• On Residential Breaks in the Welsh countryside

For struggling children and their families:

• A dedicated Christmas Appeal

Our AIMS

Enhancing the awareness of the environment and healthy living.

Understanding the importance of the environment and a healthy lifestyle forms a major part of the learning experience with KIND. Sustainability, Recycling and Health are keywords in the KIND learning process.

Balancing individuality with responsibility towards others.

Concentrating on individual needs and aspirations is at the heart of our approach, ensuring that a visit to the SEED Centre or a place on one of our residential breaks is both enjoyable and rewarding for each and every child.
We recognise that every child has something important to offer, provided they have the appropriate framework within which to express themselves in a positive and responsible way.

Adventure is at the core of the childhood experience and we expand on this.

Fun and enjoyment are central to the KIND experience – the children certainly leave with the feeling that they have had a very special one indeed.
They also go home having made new friends and relationships that have been built through a shared experience … an adventure at the heart of childhood.
