Family Learning
The KIND Family Learning GAP Project is a 5 year initiative aimed at helping specific ‘at need’ families within Liverpool access pathways to education.
Based at our SEED Centre and using its state of the art facilities, the Family Learning GAP project will aim to develop learning skills for identified groups of parents, carers and children who have either had: negative experiences of education, have few or no formal qualifications or have specific literacy, numeracy or English Language difficulties and needs.
Working in partnership with a range of education providers, we will utilise the kitchen, garden and environmental facilities at the Centre to encourage families to learn together through practical means. Including the preparation and cooking of food, growing and harvesting, or using the environmental resources to learn about recycling and sustainability.
By providing a welcoming, non-threatening and friendly learning environment for the families we work with, we hope that they will:
- participate in and enjoy educational activity more
- improve their skills and knowledge
- develop more self-confidence
- be encouraged to go on to further learning
- have enhanced their future prospects
- And that parents and carers will be better able to interact positively with their children and support them in learning.

In order for us to continue being KIND
we need your help.
We can only undertake projects such as this thanks to the generous help and support of others. Which is
why, every donation or means of support we receive is vital in helping us to be KIND to thousands of children, young people and their families every year.
