Why we need your help

The work of KIND affects the lives of thousands of children each year. The children who are referred to us come from many different backgrounds and with many different problems but they are all children who need a BREAK, in every sense of that word.

Help KIND

Numbers in need are rising every year, but unfortunately our funds are not. Without continuing support KIND cannot help children like Jane, an eleven year old who looks after two younger members of the family and a mum who cannot cope; or Darren, an eight year old who lives in a violent household on a rundown housing estate.

Children like these need to see life, and they do have more to offer. Children can be very insular.

KIND : How you can help

For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Donations

Please make your cheque or postal order payable to KIND and send it to our head office address. If you prefer, you could transfer the donation from your bank directly to ours: Barclays, sort code 20-51-01 into account number 70037273.

Alternatively, you can make a payment online using the SECURE Paypal Payment Processor. Click here to make an on-line donation.

Legacies

Gifts to KIND made under a Will can be really tax effective for the deceased’s estate. The legacy is is exempt from inheritance tax (40% on anything over £300,000 from April 2007) and is included in the other expenses, like household bills, funeral costs, etc., deducted from the estate before tax calculations are made.

Land and Buildings

You can get income tax relief when you donate land or buildings to a charity like KIND.

Stocks and Shares – Donating

£1,000 in quoted shares or securities could reduce your income tax bill by some £400, with no capital gains tax.

Payroll Giving

Your employer makes regular deductions from your pay on your behalf. This means, for example, that your £5 a month donation will be worth much more to the charity because the Inland Revenue adds the tax you would have paid on that £5 and gives it to KIND.

Volunteers

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer? You could, for example, help us at the S.E.E.D. Centre.

Other

You may have an item of value, such as an antique, we could auction to raise funds. You may have ideas on how you could help with our fundraising, so please let us know.

For further information on any of the above please get in touch.
